A NEW GAME

October 16, 2007 at 6:53 pm (Uncategorized)

I thought the best audience for this audio would be adolescents. Adolescents could learn about the problem and see why not to get involved in the trend. Having younger children listen to the audio could help prevent the children from picking up such hurtful habits. Also, a good audience could be parents of cutters to help them understand the problem and come up with the solution.  People in education or who work with adolescents would be a great audience to be educated about the problem. Altogether, i believe the best audience would be a cutter. It could help him or her realize the problem and seek help to end the habit.

The Non-deigners Design Book

October 11, 2007 at 5:01 pm (Uncategorized)

The reading can be useful in doing many different things. It could be used when making any productive design. It gives you useful way to accomplish what you want in a design, such as to grab attention to a design, draw attention to a certain words, and different ways to construct text to be the most effective in accomplishing what you want. I thought the reading also was very helpful because it gave visual examples of methods we have talked about in class. The reading gave great examples of concepts to incorporate in the bumper stickers we are producing. Some of the concepts reviewed were proximity, contrast, repetition, and alignment. I found this handout the most useful and helpful reading we were given. I believe this handout will be very useful to me throughout the quarter.

I thought these visuals would be great for a gender comparison. The first image compares the two gender symbols and compares the two colors associated with each sex. The second images shows a macho man and tiny woman with many children. This image shows many gender stereotypes.
